Privateer 2 won't allow me to install it. The error message claims that I don't have enough hard drive space. This can't be true. I have 30 gigs free. I have heard that Win XP won't allow another operating system's use of it's hard drive. My copy of the game is deluxe, and is made for Windows 95 not DOS.

Now works under XP perfectly. Installed from the CD without a hitch and plays perfectly. I could never get it to run under 2000.

the game dont even start though VDMSound seems to handle sounds parameters correctly

Windows XP Home Edition (Retail) ASUS v6800 with 21.81a ASUS drivers SB Audigy Gamer with Win XP driver update NOTES: Had to set to D3D mode in the game configuration and W98 Compatability mode in Win XP. Seems to play OK, but there seems to be some audio problems.

To get it to work I had to install the latest compatibility update from Microsoft (reboot), create a shortcut to WC1.exe, right click it, properties, compatibility, and apply a win95 mask. Run that shortcut and the game runs fine.

Use QfixApp on WC1.exe and click "IgnoreException.dll" Click the "Advanced" tab. Then click "Create attributes file". Then go to the AppPatch folder in the Windows folder and click on WC1.reg Now all you have to do is run the game like normal from the Shortcut! Reinstall this .reg if you reinstall windows!

On Wcnews you'll find a fan-made patch to make WCP working under Win2k. Only D3D works and you need DX8. FSAA would make the game crash but everything else was working perfectly. (GeForce2 Ultra, drivers 6.50 SP1 DX8)

Use U7WIN9X to play in Windows. Play's very slow. No sound. Works under VMWARE in Windows 98 but very very slowly.

Install was a little funny - nothing indicating it was finished and right back to desktop, but all appears to work fine with no patches. I am running SP1, but don't know if that makes a difference.
