I know that this is potentially a problem-laden system...so any help would be greatly appreciated.
BSODs for the first time really in Win2k
I'm running a Creative Labs Annhilator Pro on Det. 5.32 at AGP4x, but not fastwrites(screwed up the system)
I'm running a Creative Labs SB Live! with the LiveWare 3 drivers...
My system has errors show up, BSODS saying errors with Sysaudio.sys(my onboard sound is disabled) at startup...and ntfs.sys...plus the ntoskrnl...which hasn't shown up in a while.
Fresh installation, all I've installed are teh archiving apps(WinRAR, WinZip, WinACE), the drivers for the SB Live.
I've not successfully run the 4 in 1 drivers from Asus....
Any ideas on what may cause these errors?

I have just about the same config as you. If you're having that many errors its due to a hardware problem and 9 times out of 10 it is a memory problem. Try different memory or if your running at 133mhz, try turning it down to 100.
One last note, installing any OS with bad memory problems can cause all kinds of havoc with the system. Basically files corrupt as they pass through memory on the way to the hard drive. If you find that it is the memory, you should reinstall after you fix the problem just to be on the safe side.

Sounds like memory trouble. U got 384MB? Have just 1 memorycard in, remove the rest. Make sure the DRAM interleave is set to 3-4, not 4-4. Set the RAM speed to 100MHz, instead of by SPD. Is your onboard sound disabled in BIOS? Isn't there a jumper for it as well? Somewhere around the 3 PCI slot there is a jumper, but I don't remember if it's for the sound or the wake-on-lan/modem.

256MB of the RAM is PNY PC100 SDRAM(2 weeks old)
128MB of the RAM is Compaq PC100 SDRAM(1 year old)
These RAM chips worked flawlessly in my Compaq.
RAM Speed is set at 100mhz
Interleave is set at 3:3 instead of 4:3
Audio is disabled both through BIOS, and through jumpers.

I switched the Compaq RAM with my 32MB PNY...so I'm now running all PNY RAM.
I'll see what happens...

I would remove all but the 256MB RAM card. I have heard of ppl having trouble with mixing RAM chips on this MB. Also, according to a post here at NTcompatible, u should set your interleave to 4:3. I use this setting, and have no problem. But then again, I just have one memorycard and it's PC133 so it's hard to compare. My advice: use just the 256MB card and test your system hard.

I don't have a 256 chip...2 128s and a 32. All PNY Brand, and all PC100. the 4-3 would **** up my system, I'm pretty sure.
I'm running it in FAT32 right now...and I'm having less problems...but I still get the sysaudio.sys error, and on occasion, I get ntoskrnl.sys error.
Any ideas on what I could do to fix this? I've installed Win2k 15 times in the past 3 days....and still don't have everything working properly...
The onboard audio IS disabled, I double checked last night...
When will SP1 come out? maybe that will fix things...

Well, have u tried the 4:3 setting? And I know this s****, but try running it with just 1 memorycard. Can be a broken chip, never know what kind of **** things like that can do.

The 4:3 setting would set my PC-100 RAM to PC-133, which would effectively destroy them, burn them up, etc.
not an acceptable option.

hmm....
The only problem I'm having now is sysaudio.sys now.
I feel that this is most likely a conflict of soundcards--onboard and SBLIVE!.
Is there anyone here who has a k7V without the onboard sound, and a SBlive! that could tell me what they have in device manager for sounds?
I also have a Quickcam Web...

I finally got my system up to where I could play games, and I enabled EAX on C-strike. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!! My "low" volume setting practically blew my computer speakers out!!! What does this mean? I HAVE TO KEEP THIS SOUND CARD!!! I used the memory program listed as the third comment in the "RAM PROBLEMS" post, and after 76 loops(and 12 hours of not being able to play CS) there had been no problems.
