Hi. I don´t know what happens. I obtain Doom 3 last week, and I cannot play it. The game starts normally, but I can hear nothing. I can see the game, but the sound doesn´t work.

Does anyone have the same problem with DOOm3?

I´ve had problems with my sound card for three months: Echoes and slower sounds in some games.

Perhaps this isn´t the place to ask for help, but I don´t know where to ask. Creative and Activision only tell me to install the latest patches and drivers, but I have already done it and nothing has changed.

Yesterday I tried to run Doom 3 again, but the game didn´t run. A Windows message error came. The same error I see when I try to play Heavy Metal FAKK 2 or Rune. I thought these two games were uncompatible with Windows Xp, but DosFreak told me once they aren´t.

Perhaps my problem with games isn´t Windows XP. What then?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommend me forums or webs, please.

My PC is a PIV 3,2ghz, 1024mb RAm, Nvidia Geforce FX 5700 VE, and a Sound Blaster Live! 24 Bit. The OS is Windows XP Home SP2.

Thank you very much

So does Doom 3 run at all?
Does it sometime run and sometimes not run?
When it doesn't run what error message do you receive?

The SB Live! is a pretty old card but since the Audigy is basically thr same card there shouldn't be any problems. With that said I don't really keep up with Intel Motherboards (Last Live! I owned was like in 2001 or 2002 or something and last Intel processor was a dual P3 back in 2002). So there possibly could be an incompatibility there.

How old are the sound drivers for the Live!? Every so often I get fed up with Creative's drivers and use the KX drivers which are much better (although no EAX).

As for FAKK2, you have to manually decompress the patch files. Didn't you start a thread about this before?

I solved my problem with Doom 3 changing the Doomconfig file. Now I can hear it well.

About Heavy Metal FAKK 2, I tried to install the latest patch but it didn´t recognize my game, and it´s an authentic game. I don´t know how to decompress the patch manually and what sort of program do I have to use to do this.

Thanks
