Hello there !

I have been encountering this problem for some time.
I am using broadband internet.
Recently, whatever I try to download either doesnt start or gets stuck
at 75% or after 99%.
But the pages are downloaded without any problem.

Best browser I have used that has a BUILT-IN download manager is Opera 8.0... & Opera versions below it as far as the 6.x series resume broken download features have been as solid as I have ever seen... better than FireFox's even!

(And, I used both Firefox (and its previous FireBird & Phoenix incarnations) plus Opera since version 4.x series to compare them on this particular feature! )



* This feature, since I have been on 56k again after 5++ years of cablemodem, is why I went to Opera vs. Firefox largely - a better (the best I have tried in fact) resume download ability!

Either of the two replies given would probably do the trick for you. You might look at Star Downloader since it is free. But, if you are timing out or you are bumping into some memory walls, you might want to go to http://www.dslreports.com/ and choose Test and Tools and then choose the Tweak Test to tune up your TCP/IP connection for broadband. DSLReports are supplies a free piece of software to allow you to change your settings without having to physically go into the registry to do so.
