I have an HP Pavilion laptop running windows XP, two weeks ago the power supply jack broke and was repaired. When I picked up the machine we powered it up both with the battery and the power cord, everything was fine. When I got the maching home and powered up I got the message LSASS.exe - system error, object name not found, then it immediately rebooted and that was all the further I could ever get. Since I don't know much about the working of computers I had someone that does looking/working on it. He has changed the hard drive, rotated the memory, ran a memory test for 95 hours and a scan disk on the hard drive. All of that was ok. Now he is getting the error IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, 0x0________A, oxo_______0,8, oxo_______2, oxo______o, 0x804ec057. Any suggestions.

Power supply is possibly bad, I would check by putting another one *preferably new or known working) in it.

does your friend have an extra, or maybe even can bring his own over and check?

Sounds like it may be the issue however.

Common IRQ ect.. probs can occur for Bad/Failing power supplies, also ones with no enough juice to power your rig.

Driver conflicts, as well as ovewrheating, check your fans, make sure all are clean, replace any that seem slower than normal. Uninstall/Reinstall any drivers such as Sound and Video.

Also, check your BIOS if possible (if not check windows system) and look at the IRQ's and look at which are shared. you will want your Video Card to be on an IRQ alone, normally IRQ 11. If it is being shared with something such as Network Card, Modem, Sound Card, you may want to move the item it is being shared with to another PCI slot (if you have extras to move it to)

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL means that an application with a lower priority is trying to take CPU time away from an application with higher priority. The higher priority process may be an important system application that the machine can't run without, so Windows may not allow it to happen.

Go through the steps at this link and in your case maybe starting with A Stop 0x0A error after Windows XP is already installed.
