X COM : Ufo Defense (5)

This product has been tested on the following operating systems: Windows 2000 and has a average rating of 5

The last rating (5) has been submitted on 2002-04-01 12:00:00 by Anonymous running Windows 2000:
After trying the method described here on several different machines with a variety of hardware, and never succeeding, i tried this.

I went to 'Run' and typed in dxdiag for the directx diagnostic tool; clicked on the display tab and disabled DirectDraw acceleration, which also disabled D3D acceleration and AGP Support.

Where before all I could get was scrambled video which looked like the resolution of refersh rate was off, i got perfecty viewable video at the game's native 320x200 (i believe). This worked for both Win98se and Win2k pro for me, on 1.4 ghz Athlon systems with 512 RAM and Radeon 7500/ and 8500 cards, and a dual Athlon MP 1.2 system with 1.5gb of RAM and a Rage Fury Maxx.
