I've installed the expansion over the unpatched original. I can play the game using the D3D renderer and 1024*768*16 resolution. The game froze after selecting the difficulty on higher resolutions. I got Radeon 9800 pro, 4.12 CATs.

Works fine. This game has many issues with several graphics cards, so if it doesn't work, it ain't because of XP.

I am running WinXP with SP1 and all updates. This petains to the FULLY PATCHED game v2.1.

Had the "notorious" blank screen problem (Sounds would work but no video whatsoever EXCEPT for the splash screen before the menu.)

I read that this is a common problem with Nvidia cards but could pertain to others. The way that I fixed it was by bringing down the "console" for the game (by pressing the ~ TILDE key) and inputting "maxfps 30". This brought my video back and the few levels I played, there were no crashes.Others have had success by turning off the V-Sync on their video card.
