Win2k won't detect my ISA SB16 card. I'm pretty sure it's PnP, but even the hardware scan turns up nada. It just DOESN'T exist.

I tried a few other old ISA devices I have lying around, and they all have the same result.

Jabba,
I think that you are going to be out of luck with this one. I have a PCI16 SB and can't get it to work with Win2K but have just been given something to try.If it works I gladly let you know but if the ADD NEW HW wizard doesn't detect it then it doesn't leave you much options.

I have a SB32 ISA PnP and it's detected as a SB16, so go figure...

Anyhow, if your SB16 is indeed PnP(as it probably is) it should be recognized by Win2k. Do you have PnP enabled in your BIOS? Have you checked that there aren't any IRQ conflicts?

I do, but after restart it says the device cannot be found. Tried all available IRQs, no go.

Firstly about the sb16, it should be detected by windows and win2k can use it (unlike what the guy with the PCI16 said) try locking an IRQ in the bios for the card (say irq5) maybe check the card for jumpers, for pnp.

About the SB32 guy, all SB ISA cards are the same construction, the AWE32, SB16, AWE64 and so on... so they all work with the basic SB16 dirver, i was wondering if anyone got the AWWE control Panel to work in win2k...I found this driver for winamp that is really cool and opens mp3 files into the AWE memory and the card runs effects on it and stuff...but it doesn't want to work in win2k, only in 98... any luck with that anyone?
