When the network patch for Sonic R is installed. Sonic R will not work under XP with at all. I have found that people who dont apply the patch may have better luck running Sonic R under XP as one machine i tested could run it but another windows XP machine couldnt. Must be some hardware / Software thing that stops machines running the unmodified game.

Received the follow messages:
1) Working great on both of my Windows 2000 Professional systems - Dual P3 1Ghz, 1GB RAM with Asus GF2 GTS 32MB(NVidia driver build date 12/04/2000) and Thinkpad T20 P3 750 with 256MB RAM. I even tried playing network games with these two systems and it works flawlessly.
2) The installation screen just kind of stopped but it seemed to have installed correctly. However, when I try to run the game I get a blank, black screen then get kicked back to the desktop. I am using a GeForce 2 GTS with the 6.67 drivers. I am running a non overclocked Pentium 3 - 800 and the system is very stable.
3) W2K SP1, DX7, Celeron500 x2, BP6, TNT2 Pro + 6.31. Not a single problem.
4) I had no problems running it what so ever. Using Geforce 2 GTS, 192MB of Ram, Celeron 500.
5) Quite a few graphical glitches during the menu selections, and during in game movies. But does not affect gameplay, nor does it adversly affect menu navigation.

Installed fine, the configurator runs fine, but when I hit "play game" or run the .exe out of the folder manually, the game just crashes with a "MegaCollectionPlus.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."

The game will load on w2k without any problems. The sound tracks on the game seem to skip or loop. Graphics and sounds are perfect. Using amd 1.2 256meg of ram and Ati Radeon 64 megs.

Use XP compatibility mode to install. Run config as an administrator or else resolution settings will not be saved. I have had minor graphical glitches, but am using the standard gfx driver that comes with Vista B2.

On Windows XP you get an error message that says: "SKY.EXE - Entry Point Not Found" and "The procedure entry point FT_Exit12 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll."

To fix this, open the folder containing Sky Target and DELETE the file called WINMM.DLL then the game will work.

Note: You will have to reset the resolution every time you start the game and it the game gets confused and keeps switching back to the Desktop when you change resolution but it won't have crashed - simply select the Sky Target icon in the Windows Taskbar to bring it back!

If you want to avoid (some of) the screen switching hassle, drop your screen depth to 16-bit colour before starting then the game will run in a window and you can select Full Screen 16 bit colour straight away from the drop down menu.
