Transcend has done exactly that with their T.sonic line of flash MP3 players. This line mixes interesting design with affordable prices, the combination of which should make up for Transcend's lack of brand recognition and marketing clout. The T.sonic 310 is a player which is clearly based on the iPod Shuffle and is meant to compete with it. While price was its biggest advantage, the Shuffle's recent price drop (from $99 to $69 for the 512MB model and $149 to $99 for the 1GB model) could spell major trouble for this product"
