this may be a
problem with the FIC PA-2013 PCI Bridge problem and the VAI chipset, but
the Yamaha XG sound card works fine. The Trident just gets a 'device not
working, reinstall drivers' type of message.

The Trident 9385 display adapter is listed as "Compatible" with W2000 in Microsoft's HCL. Microsoft published a driver and included it in the W2000 installation CD-ROM. It is installed automatically during W2000 installation. It causes the kernel to crash to a blue screen. Example: Open a Media Player window (the version built-in to Windows 2000) and try to play a QuickTime movie such as the file APAGE2.MOV on the CD for the game MYST. Blue screen, unexpected kernel interrupt.

Works quite well with the
standard drivers. Don't expect much for 3d.

I discovered that the trident 8400 driver posted here as http://www.pcware.com/Drivers/Y2KDRIVERS/MB-585lmr/Video/Win2000.exe does not work. But you can get your display adapter up running by forcing it to "Trident Video Accelerator Blade 3D". The link http://www.trid.com/html/faq/blade.htm is quite interesting.

Has a little corruption on the screen. Cursor can be misworking occasionally.
