Please can you advise me what I'm in store for, I've bought some new hardware.
I've recently purchased Dual PIII 1Ghz processors (to upgrade from Dual PIII 500mhz).
I've never removed these things ever before.
Can someone please tell me what I'm in store for with regards to the OS.
Will I need to do anything ?? Or can I just swap these babies over and W2K will boot up no problem ??
I have a SuperMicro P6DGU MB - I believe I have to change some jumper settings on the MB.
Anything else ??
Thanks,
Jez

You shouldn't have to change any jumpers on the motherboard since the fsb speed will be the same as the 500's (100) and the multiplier is locked on the cpus and won't change no matter what you set the board to. You should be able to just pop in the new cpus, hook up the cooling fans and be on your way. I am assuming you purchased 100mhz FSB cpus since the DGU only supports up to 100 mhz FSB officially.

Thanks EM.
Supermicro have gotten back to me and told me I don't need to do a thing.
I bought 100fsb because SuperMicro told me if I didn't, my PC would run real slow.
Now, if I can just figure out HOW to remove and reinstall these processors
