1) The XE80 NT 4.0 driver can be used for a DocuPrint
P8 in a Windows 2000 environment.
To get this driver, go to our Drivers and Utilities web site at: http://www.xerox.com/go/xrx/drivers_utilities/drivers.jsp
Use the "Choose a Product" pulldown
menu to select "WorkCentre XE80 - Digital Copier - Laser Printer"
Use the "Operating System" pulldown menu to select "Windows NT
4.0"
Use the "Language" pulldown menu to select the language of your choice.
Click "Go"
2) Xerox has released Docuprint P8 drivers for Windows XP. However, these drivers work under Windows 2000 as well.

Not compatible for xp, drivers to be released January of 2002 to make it xp compliant. Some patches already out for other xerox versions of workcentre.

Requires Firmware version 1.90. Used NT drivers that came on installation CD, which work fine. Apparently only works with parallel (IEEE-1284) cable, not with USB. Attempts to use device with USB generated "port is busy" errors. All functions, including print, scan, and copy appear to work. Scanning software program (Pagis Pro 2.0) requires an update to Service Pack 2.

Pointless using the Xerox drivers for NT4 - It doesnt offer Duplex printing! Use HP Laserjet5 NT driver from the printers list, and duplex will be a print option. The only problem in nt with this print driver is it reverses the print trays, so lower is upper, upper is lower. Other problem is that If printer is shared, Windows 98 clients will print shit, unless nt has the 4512 driver from xerox. Prints ok from 2k clients and nt4, and 95. Xerox have told me that they dont have any intention of updating the driver, and if i want to use duplex from nt to manually select it on the printers control panel. Not acceptable in my opinion, but xerox think they know best.

Received the follow messages:
1) According to Xerox, W2000 are in the process of
being tested. Until then, tech support says to use the HP Laserjet IIP driver
off the W2000 CD as an emulated Docuprint dirver. Note that printer will be limited to 300 x 300 DPI.
2) Reciened an E-Mail from Webmaster@Xerox.com indicating that P12 drivers for Win2K have been made available. I downloaded - they work like the HPLaserIIP Xerox has insisted P12 owners use. This laser printer is still not doing what its supposed to do under 2K.
3) I have been chasing Xerox for several months about drivers. I was told they would be supplying them. Today I received message that there was almost no chance of this happening. The only hope would appear to be if enough P12 owners complain. I don't understand this attitude.

I have a Xerox DocuPrint XJ8C, which is a
re-badged Lexmark (took it apart and the M/B is Lexmark). Lexmark released
the 5700 drivers on 5th May 2000. Work perfectly for me.

Works with NT 4.0 drivers. If
you install it and reboot you can do the printer alignment and its fine.
But if you ever print and the printer is not on or the cable not
connected you will get a wierd spooler loop that can only be fixed by
reinstalling windows2000. It has errors every time you boot up. So turn
off the spooler in the printer properties and you can make it out of
this loop.

XJ-6C Inkjet Color Printer (5)

The drivers for this device
are not out yet for win 2k but if you install it as a Hewllet-Packard
600 Color Printer it will work fine.

Docuprint P8ex (5)

USB printing works! You must
manually install the printer from the control panel, select the USB001
printer port, and use the NT4 drivers from the CD. It was not necessary
to install the USB driver from the cd.

WorkCentre 4800cx (5)

Works with the drivers
provided with the cd although it has a hard time telling how much ink is
left in the printer, otherwise the printer drivers work fine.
