Items needed: Sigma Designs beta 1 of Hollywood Plus decoder board drivers (www.sigmadesigns.com) Creative Encore 8x Install CD. Steps I went through to make this work: Set “PNP OS installed” to “no” in your BIOS (important!) Up until this point if you haven’t attached any drivers to your DXR3 decoder card, it is most likely listed as “Multimedia Controller” in your “Other” device list in the device manager with an exclamation mark to indicate that it doesn’t work. The thing to realize is that the DXR3 is actually an OEM’d version of the Sigma Designs Hollywood + decoder card.  So, go download beta 1 of the drivers and unzip them to a temporary directory.  DO NOT execute “setup.exe” of this package… it will install Sigma’s DVD Station which is a pile and never worked for me anyway. Go to your Creative Encore 8x CD and navigate down to: driversEnglishwinnt40 and execute the file NT40DRV.EXE Reboot.  (you may get an error box about the reboot call from your temp directory – just OK it). When you come back into Windows, go back to the Creative CD and install the application PC-DVD as normal. Reboot. Now, you most likely have a fully functional DVD player… but you’ll find
