If you hit the F7 key while playing the graphics switch from 320 to 640. The game is much more playable then and makes more fun.

It's true what the other comments say: You can trick it with compatibility mode and then install. But the game will not run hardware accelerated Direct3D. Only software mode (graphics look very bad).

(execute
<code>
regsvr32 %systemroot%apppatchslayerui.dll

Make a shortcut to setup.exe. Right-click, select Properties / Compatibility, select "Windows 98 Compatibility Layer" and check "Run in compatibility mode".
Click OK.
MM3 will now install without a hitch when started from the shortcut.

The setup program has to be run in compatibility mode, the game itself works fine afterwards.

Have to trick it with APcompat during install. However there is a trick to this. For me - I ran a dos prompt using apcompat (tell it win98) then run the setup.exe on the cdrom under the dos prompt. You will get halfway through when it freezes up. Kill APcompat using the task manager and you will be able to finish install and play the game.
