Received the follow messages: 1) It gives me an error message about DirectX 0 (!) being installed and DirectX 7 needed. I use build 2481 2) I am using Windows XP Professional(Final 2600) with config as: 10GB Maxtor NTFS partition, nVidia Riva TNT2 M64 with Detonator 23.11 @ 1024x768(16-bit color), Pentium-3@800Mhz, Sound Blaster 64. The NFS5:PU works w/o any glitch whatsoever. No need to reset page file size etc. Just plays as in Win98 and fast too.

The game installs, run fine, but, when it starts loading... There's no end. It don't loads, and stay in the loading screen forever.

Recently bought NFS:PU in the economy jewel box version. Installed under WinXP Home, SP2 without any problems at all and runs perfectly. Happy surprise since others have reported being unable to install or run under WinXP. My guess is EA has fixed the WinXP issues, and/or WinXP SP2 has improved Win9x compatibility. Game version is 3.2 according to a file in the installed game folder. My system is a homebuilt, Sempron 2300+ with Radeon 9600 Pro.

I'm using XP SP2 with an Athlon XP 2600+ and a Geforce 7600 GT (Forceware 93.71). The game is patched to version 3.5

The Game installs flawlessly, but without any modifications will stay in the first loadingscreen, or crash when it should enter the mainmenu afterwards. I can make it run by either using the Windows 95 or Windows 98 Compatibilitymode, but the game will run extremely slow i.e. not playable (visibile on the "3D effects" in the menus and ingame).
