You can install Windows XP over Windows 2000 professional: Windows XP will not install directly over Win 2000 Server. So you need to choose “New Installation (Advanced)” after you have inserted the CD and clicked on the Install Windows XP option. After you have entered the serial number and answered all the questions (I think the installation will run for about 45mins); you will need to reinstall all your applications because you have done a new install. All your data files will remain but you should check this and move any data files to suit. Your PC will now be in a ‘Dual Boot” mode.
