Motorola SM56 softmodem actually refers to a chipset that Motorola makes and not any specific modem models - these are manufactured by various OEM's. My particular SM56 modem installed and runs great in Win2k. To be honest I didn't expect much from this modem - it's a softmodem afterall, and a cheap one at that ($20) - but it actually connects faster than my $80 Modem Blaster did!
