I am trying to get Little Big Adventure 1 to work on my winxp machine. it installs fine, but when I try to start the game it always says no cd, I am using the original game cd. I have booted to dos with a boot disk and the game will start and play fine but then I have no sound support. Any help will be appreciated

You have few options:

If your sound card is supported in Dos you'll need to load Dos Drivers onto your boot disk. Can't tell you how to do this specifically because every sound card is different (contact Sound card manufacturer or website for this).
Alternately you could run it in a virtual computer. Use Virtual PC or VMware as both will emulate an entire computer. Of course you will need to load Dos (ie have the Dos installation disks). You could also boot the virtual PC with a Win98 setup disk and format using the /s switch to make the virtual hard drive bootable.

Hope this helps.

First you need:
1)LBA(doesnt have to be original game)
2)DOSbox(search Google)
3)No-CD *****(if you cant find ask me)

Install the game to a C:\ directory(like C:\LBA)
Open and type in DOSbox
mount C C:/LBA
then just type C: (then you should have a C instead of Z)
(if you have the game launching file in another folder in LBA folder)type cd foldername(like cd LBAgame)[cd=change directory]
then type the file that opens LBA(some have setup.exe and some LBA.exe)[if you have a ***** then it should be Relent.exe)
If your game doesnt start, then in install or setup choose no sound and no speech.

Your game could be running slow in DOSbox so you need to find your best frameskip and cpu cycles.
ctrl+F12 increase cpu cycles (11000 worked best for me)
ctrl+F8 increase frameskip (10 was best for me)
If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask.
