Perhaps envious of the success of Panasonic's TZ2 and TZ3 cameras, Canon has announced a new series of medium-zoom "family cameras", starting with this, the 8MP, 10x zoom SX100 IS. With a range of manual and automatic features, it is a camera designed to have as wide an appeal as possible.
