Over the last six months there had been much speculation as for when AMD would make a transition to a higher system bus speed. Many hardware enthusiasts were craving for the implementation and as many were seeing Intel processors reaping the benefit of the higher front side bus capability it was obvious Intel had regained some creditability amongst the enthusiasts once again.
However AMD's response to the improvements of the latest Intel processors was not that effective (though the price was) until now and today the AMD Athlon™ XP2700+ Processor is about to make its way into the retail channels.
