We just published our review of the Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition. As you can guess by the name, this CPU clearly has Intel's Core 2 Quad Q9550 in its sights as a target.
If you think AMD doesn't stand a chance at competing with a higher-end Core 2 Quad, think again. The new Phenom II's are awesome, and in my opinion put AMD back on the map. You can read the review for full results.
The thing is, it doesn't cost that much to upgrade to a Core i7 920 if you are building an entire system, and we all know that the Core i7 makes every other CPU look.. well, pathetic.
