AMD Ryzen 3000U Series APUs Detailed, Geekbenched

AMD is putting final touches on its Ryzen 3000U series APUs for ultra-portable notebooks and 2-in-1 devices. Thai PC enthusiast Tum Apisak shared links to Geekbench scores of at least three SKUs, the Ryzen 3 3200U, the Ryzen 3300U, and the Ryzen 5 3500U. The Ryzen 3 3200U combines a 2-core/4-thread CPU component, while the Ryzen 3 3300U packs a 4-core/4-thread CPU, and the Ryzen 5 3500U a better equipped 4-core/8-thread CPU. While the 3200U's CPU is clocked high at 2.60 GHz, the 3300U and 3500U are both clocked at 2.10 GHz. The iGPU specs are still under the wraps as Geekbench only tested the single- and multi-threaded CPU performance.

EVGA XC Ultra Nvidia RTX 2080 Graphics Card Review

EVGA XC Ultra Nvidia RTX 2080 The graphics card market has been in a weird state of flux recently. The RTX cards launched to much fanfare and just as much hate. Sure, theyre bloody fast, but theyre also darn expensive. Furthermore, at launch, DLSS, DXR and more were not ready for gamers to enjoy.

LG Launches 32QK500-W QHD Display: IPS and Freesync for $300

LG has introduced its new entry-level display designed for the mainstream market but supports a number of premium features such as AMD’s FreeSync dynamic refresh rate tech. The 32QK500-W relies on an IPS panel and features a larger size and a higher resolution than most monitors in the ~$300 class.

High-end displays for enthusiasts and gamers evolve at a rather rapid pace with improved and larger models introduced every year. On the other hand, workhorses used for everyday work and play are updated on a much longer cadence. In fact, the most popular LCD models on the market still feature 23.5-inch to 27-inch 8-bit Full-HD panels and do not support any modern technologies. While not being a high-tech breakthrough, LG’s 32QK500-W changes what we come to expect from a budget monitor produced by a renowned brand.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX Ray Tracing In Battlefield V Explored Pre And Post Patch

The much anticipated, and sometimes controversial, next installment in the Battlefield franchise is here. There are many aspects to the game, like the World War II setting for example, which have gamers questioning whether or not we need yet another FPS set in the same era in history, especially in light of last year's Call of Duty WWII. The thing that has had most of us tech enthusiasts waiting with baited breath, however, is the chance to finally see NVIDIA's GeForce RTX real-time Ray Tracing effects live, in an actual game. Battlefield is indeed the first publicly available game to use these new DXR/RTX effects and it's exciting to finally see new technology employed, beyond the standard rasterized graphics we've been used to all these years...

The State of PC Gaming in 2018

PC has never been a singular platform like, say, PlayStation or Xbox. Instead, it's a series of disparate landmasses sharing the same turbulent sea. PC gaming looks to become more fragmented than it's been in the past few years---for better and worse. More options means more chances for new ideas to flourish and, perhaps, for a new middle class of developers to emerge.
