Aopen CDRW1232 Review

The Tech Zone has posted a review on the Aopen CDRW1232 CD-ReWriter.
While there are a couple of faster drives on the market now (indeed, we have tested two of them here recently at TheTechzone), the 12/10/32 drives now represent the economical "sweet spot" among the drives currently availalble. Today´s victim, Aopen´s new 1232a CD/R/RW drive, is representative of this segment of the market, in both price, and in general features.
From an upgraders perspective, we´ll take a look at it in direct comparison to my own personal current CD-R drive, an Imation/Plextor 8x20 SCSI CD-R drive. My rebadged Plextor drive has been by far the most reliable CD-R drive I´ve ever owned, and I´ve owned quite a few. Sporting an Adaptec 2930C PCI SCSI controller, I have never had buffer underrun problems, and the coaster count has been extremely small.
