Elite Bastards posted a first look at the ASUS Maximus III Formula motherboard
The Maximus Formula III is probably familiar to many of you in terms of both its overall design and aesthetic. One immediately noticeable facet of this particular board is the provision of three physical PCI Express 2.0 16x slots for multi-GPU configurations - It'll be interesting to see if NVIDIA SLI support is provided alongside AMD CrossFire support. It also appears that eight Serial ATA ports are provided, together with a single IDE channel - Two of these SATA ports appear to be running from a different controller, opening up the possibility of SATA-III support. Two PCI and two PCI Express 1x slots round out that aspect of the motherboard's configuration.
