On paper, the CMI8788's abilities are very impressive indeed, moving from the 24-bit, 96KHz playback and recording capabilities of the CMI8770 to offer full 24-bit, 192KHz playback using both analogue and digital outputs. Complete overkill for all but the most hardcore audiophile admittedly, but together with a more powerful DSP (Digital Signal Processor) than that seen on previous C-Media chips, it gives you an early taste of just how seriously this part takes itself from an audio quality point of view.Bluegears b-Enspirer sound card Review
