Rounded cables have been around for awhile, and are nothing new to the pc user. In fact, lots of folks are using them now in place of the old ribbon IDE cables for several reasons. The first and probably the most popular reason would have to be that they look much cooler than standard IDE cables. Standard IDE cables are quickly becoming extinct, as rounded cables are far better looking and can compliment your case dramatically. Second, rounded cables aid in allowing more airflow inside your case, which in turn might lower system temperatures somewhat.
