Corsair Raises the Bar for Ultra High Performance DDR2 Memory

Posted by Philipp Esselbach on: 05/22/2006 02:57 PM [ Print | 0 comment(s) ]

A press release from Corsair:

Fremont, CA (May 22, 2006) -Corsair Memory, the worldwide leader in design and manufacture of high performance memory, today announced broad availability of the world's first production DDR2-1066 and DDR2-800 low latency 2GB kits. The new TWIN2X2048-8500C5 and the WIN2X2048-6400C4 are optimized for the upcoming NVIDIA nForce590 chipset based motherboards and feature Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP).

"During the collaborative phase of EPP development, we worked very closely with NVIDIA to optimize these 2 new parts on motherboards based on their upcoming chipset. The end result is that our new XMS DDR2 modules not only boot at extreme speeds and low latency, they also have guaranteed compatibility at the advanced memory timings," said Richard Hashim, Director of Product Management at Corsair Memory. "The performance difference of DDR2-1066 and low latency of CL4 is significant. Corsair is dedicated to continue develop and launch cutting edge DDR2 technology," said Hashim.

Rated at scorching fast 1066MHz, the latest TWIN2X2048-8500C5 combines the best of high frequency performance and high density in one 2GB matched pair. Continuing the tradition of producing memory that perform at extreme speeds, Corsair flies past the competition to be the first manufacturer to offer DDR2-1066 2GB kits in mass production.

Joining the growing XMS DDR2 product line, Corsair's TWIN2X2048-6400C4 is aimed at gamers and enthusiasts who demand low latency at standard 800MHz frequency. Available in signature black XMS heat spreaders, the TWIN2X2048-6400C4 is built using carefully selected RAMs. These modules allow users to experience superior memory performance at 800MHz with uncompromised stability.

The TWIN2X2048-8500C5 and the TWIN2X2048-6400C4 are the first in the XMS family of products to feature Enhanced Performance Profiles. These modules have also been certified "SLI Ready". The EPP feature elevates memory performance by utilizing the advanced memory timings captured in the unused portion of the JEDEC standard Serial Presence Detect (SPD). EPP brings simplified overclocking success for entry level enthusiasts, and access to more advanced memory specifications and a higher recovery point for hard-core overclockers. To take full advantage of the Enhanced Performance Profiles, motherboards designed with a special BIOS can recognize the presence of EPP settings. Once these settings are enabled, the system boots directly into the memory's specified settings and takes immediate advantage of the increased performance.
