Corsair XMS2 5400UL Redefines DDR2 Memory Performance on the Intel Glenwood Platform

A press release from Corsair:

Corsair XMS2 5400UL Redefines DDR2 Memory Performance on the Intel Glenwood Platform

-- First in the world to bring DDR2-1066 capability to the Intel platform, the ultra low latency XMS2 5400UL transforms DDR2 memory overclocking --

Fremont, CA (May 12, 2005) - Corsair=AE Memory, Inc., a worldwide leader in high performance memory and cooling products for enthusiasts and overclockers, is proud to announce that the latest XMS2 5400ULTM is the first true ultra low latency memory to reach the DDR2-1066 milestone.

Using the new XMS2 5400UL memory modules, Wesley Fink at Anandtech successfully overclocked the memory to deliver 1:1 CPU:RAM synchronicity. The latest Glenwood (i955X) chipset continues the official support for Intel processors with 1066 MHz Front Side Bus (FSB). Prior to the Corsair 5400UL, no other DDR2 memory was capable of surpassing the 1GHz barrier. At the 1:1 ratio, system performance is at its best and potential bandwidth bottlenecks removed.

"We were amazed to find that the Corsair CM2X512A-5400UL could reach DDR2-1066. This yielded a Sandra standard bandwidth of just over 6400 MB/sec. To put this in perspective, this is the first motherboard and memory that we have ever tested capable of running at DDR2-1066," said Wesley Fink at Anandtech. "The 1066 crown belongs to Corsair," declared Fink.

"The 1:1 CPU:RAM synchronicity achievement using the XMS2 5400UL validates Corsair's leadership position in the enthusiast segment," said Richard Hashim, Director of Product Management at Corsair. "This product is currently shipping, so enthusiasts will have an immediate opportunity to duplicate the incredible performance breakthrough shown by Wesley," continued Hashim.
