For Pentium 4s the situation is different. Moving away from the high bandwidth RAMBUS RIMMs, Intel have learned to embrace DDR technology. Although some may argue a waste at the moment, DDR chipsets for the Intel flagship CPU are maturing rapidly. P4s need high bandwidth, the QDR technology (Quad Data Rate) means P4s with a 533MHz bus have throughputs of around 4.2GB/s.
