BFGTech GeForce 9600 GT OC 512MB Review
Bit-Tech published a review of the BFGTech GeForce 9600 GT OC 512MB graphics card

After some careful analysis of the changes, it doesn’t appear to make much sense spending any more than about 120 on a GeForce 9600 GT now, because at that point the stretch to ?140 isn’t too far away. BFGTech’s GeForce 9600 GT OC is currently sitting at around ?115 including delivery (if you take advantage of Scan’s free delivery offer for
regular contributors to the bit-tech community) – at that price, it’s not a bad deal but I do have some concerns.

For out-and-out gamers, I have no problem recommending BFGTech’s GeForce 9600 GT OC 512MB graphics card – it delivers strong performance at a good price point for those that cannot afford to stretch to 140 for a GeForce 8800 GT. The ten year warranty is also a good peace of mind if you’re planning to use the card as a family (or even a personal) hand-me-down, where it makes its way into older systems as and when you upgrade your main machine.

However, if you are looking to use the card in a home theatre PC, the bundle is missing both the DVI-to-HDMI converter and S/PDIF cable, which means that you won’t be able to connect the card to your HDTV and carry audio over the HDMI cable at the same time. Of course, you can acquire the required parts elsewhere, but that’s at an extra cost that you can avoid by purchasing another GeForce 9600 GT that //does

That ultimately prevents us from giving the card an outright recommendation, but that’s not to say there aren’t users that should lap up this card at its current asking price. Just be aware of its limitations if you were hoping to use it in an HTPC."/ come with the required connectors, as it’ll no doubt be cheaper to buy a card with
them bundled than it will to buy them separately.

WinFast Leadtek PxDTV2300H Review
Bjorn3D takes a look at the WinFast Leadtek PxDTV2300H.

The ways we can watch TV have increased over the years. In the beginning we were forced to sit by the TV and watch one of the few analogue channels that were broadcasted through the airwaves. Today however we have a lot more options. Not only can we still watch TV on our TV-sets, though now in various digital form, but we also can watch TV on our computers, either through the internet or through a TV-card in our computer.

To be able to watch TV on or through a computer we of course need a TV-card and Leadtek were kind enough to send over one of their premium TV-cards, the WinFast Leadtek PxDTV2300H. In addition to the support for analogue broadcasts this card also supports the DVB-T standard for digital Terrestial broadcasts.

Crucial Ballistix 2GB PC3-12800 Kit Review
ASE Labs posted Crucial Ballistix 2GB PC3-12800 Kit Review

These modules are rated for operation at DDR3-1600 which is PC3-12800 at 1.8V. The modules have SPD values for lower speeds (DDR3-1066) at JEDEC specs to provide boards the needed initial boot to provide the RAM with the proper voltage and timings. The stock timings at DDR3-1600 are 8-8-8-24. DDR3 latencies are very high compared to DDR2 and should only get better in time. These modules are lead free which helps the environment. Nothing like being green in today's world. I almost forgot that the command rate is 1T which means you get an extra performance boost.

CoolJag Mini LED Flash Review
OCC has published a new review of the CoolJag Mini LED Flash

The CoolJag Mini LED Flash fans are a great concept and look great with your custom message. The fans are made with a sturdy clear plastic, which makes them nearly invisible inside of your case - all you are able to see is the message with the brilliant blue border. The downfall of these fans, is the fact that they are unable to cool the system components as well as the stock fans that came with the ThermalTake Armor Extreme Edition. This is only a downfall if you are very concerned with the temperatures inside of your case, which most of us overclockers are.

OCZ Platinum 2x2048MB PC2-8000 Review
Overclockers Online has posted a new review on the OCZ Platinum 2x2048MB PC2-8000

Going from 2GB to 4GB was like bringing my over-powered, under-performing system out of its shell. There were no nagging little delays jumping through menus. Switching between tasks was no longer annoying. The network latency which was new to me in Vista all but vanished. Photoshop and Excel became useable tools again and after re-configuring the scratch disks and the paging file, Photoshop was quicker than it had ever been. I now want to grab a second kit of this memory and see how much 4x2GB will speed things up. Of course, all of this is not visible in any benchmarks, as we saw today.

Auras CTC-868 Heatsink Review
FrostyTech posted Auras CTC-868 Heatsink Review

What makes the Auras CTC-868 heatsink stand out is that it's split into thirds, with the two outer sections holding the integrated fans. A slip connection at the base of the CTC-868 allows each outer third of the heatsink to pivot on the connecting heatpipe 20 degrees, in the process noise is slightly reduced and the exhaust airflow can be directed down towards the motherboard.

Thermaltake Max 4 Active Cooling HDD Enclosure Review
Hardware Secrets posted Thermaltake Max 4 Active Cooling HDD Enclosure Review

Hard disk drive enclosures are cases for you to install a hard disk drive outside the computer, being a terrific way to carry a huge amount of data around, for backing up data, for storing and carrying files from home to the office and vice-versa, for storing and carrying videos, etc. The main problem with external hard drives is speed, because most of them are based on the USB 2.0 port, which is limited to 60 MB/s (480 Mbps). Max 4 Active Cooling from Thermaltake, however, has also an eSATA port, which is the best way to connect an external hard drive, as this interface allows the hard disk drive to be accessed at the same speed as it were installed inside the PC. Let's take a detailed look on this Thermaltake enclosure, including its performance.

Foxconn GeForce 8800GT OC Graphics Card Review
TweakTown posted a review on the Foxconn GeForce 8800GT OC Graphics Card

It recently saw a price drop to continue competing with the HD 3870 and manufacturers are still making loads of them as they continue to represent great value for money. Foxconn tend to produce a nice little reference card with an overclock and at a decent price.

With the 8800GT Standard OC in hand from Foxconn, we thought it was time to see how it faired against the overclocked 9600GT from Galaxy and the ASUS HD 3870 which carries with it stock clocks.
