Coolermaster Centurion 590 Review
Driver Heaven posted a review on the Coolermaster Centurion 590

We have had positive experiences with Cooler Master cases here at Driver Heaven, generally they are well made, easy to use and they also always have decent styling, even the cheaper models. Of course there have also been some spectacular cases such as the Cosmos and Cosmos S which are winners of Driver Heaven awards.

With plenty of good Cooler Master experiences behind us we were given the opportunity to review their latest budget case, the Centurion 590. We actually bought one of the original Centurions a few years back and it is a solid model which has proven to be hard wearing over years of heavy use.

AMD Phenom X3 8750 Triple Core Processor Review
Viper Lair posted a review on the AMD Phenom X3 8750 Triple Core Processor

Even though the AMD Unified Video Decoder can offload CPU usage in HD playback by putting the work on the graphics processing unit, if you're running multiple tasks during HD playback, the system does struggle if it doesn't have the horse power. We don't do it often, but at times we'll be converting files into DivX for sharing, and the CPU is completely maxed out, causing dropped frames during HD playback. For the test files we used, the X3 8750 had no problems with HD and file conversion.

Just hours ago AMD announced the availability of three new AMD Phenom X3 triple-core processors that feature the latest B3 stepping. AMD first announced triple-core processors back in September 2007, but only just recently launched the AMD Phenom X3 8000 series last month. AMD has finally brought the 'B3' stepping to the triple-cores and has announced three new AMD Phenom X3 triple-core processors that make up the new '50-series'.

3D Game Man posted a review on the HIS HD3850 AGP Video Card

The HIS HD3850 IceQ Turbo 512MB AGP Video Card comes action packed with powerful technology that will not let you down! And as much as we love a good hardware war, it's unfortunate that Nvidia is no longer building highend AGP cards for us to compare these results. With that said the question must be asked, is this the end of AGP?...

OCModShop posted a review on the A-Data C702 16GB Flash Drive

I used to carry around several 4-gigabyte sticks because as a technology and graphics professional I need my files with me at all times. I had one stick for portable applications, one for photoshop files and fonts I use all the time, and of course one to hold all my Atari 2600 and Nintendo emulator ROMs...

Now I can replace all of these sticks with a single USB drive thanks to A-Data's C702 16GB Flash drive. Not only does it cram 4 DVDs-worth of storage into a little nugget, but is has features to make it ultra-portable and ultra-useful.

Phenom X3 8750 Review
Today Neoseeker took a look at one of the new triple-core processors from AMD, the Phenom X3 8750.

Regardless of how it became a tri-core part, I was interested to see how our 8750 would perform compared to not only the quad core Phenoms, but also a "Black Edition" dual core AMD 5000+ X2. I also threw in a comparison to a Core 2 Duo E6750, a 2.67GHz part - giving it a 267MHz speed advantage at stock speeds - to see how the tri-core would compare to an equivalently priced dual core Intel part. After all, AMD is trying to position the tri-core parts as a viable alternative to some dual core parts -- so let's see if they accomplished this goal with some testing.

OCZ ReaperX HPC PC3-10666 Enhanced Bandwidth 2x1GB DDR3 RAM Review
APH Networks posted a review on the OCZ ReaperX HPC PC3-10666 Enhanced Bandwidth 2x1GB DDR3 RAM

How much would you pay for roughly 2% performance increase on your latest gaming rig? $100? $200? How about $600? Even the most hardcore computer enthusiasts for the past year have been struggling with this question -- and if you've been following the technology trend, yes, I am talking about DDR3 memory. According to our tests last year, DDR3 memory provided little advantage with original, first generation Core 2 CPUs in combination with Intel's first consumer chipset that supports DDR3, the P35. As DDR2 became mainstream last generation, it is inevitable to all extents that DDR3 will be in the position of DDR2. The question is only whether it'd be sooner or later. Currently, DDR3-1333 RAM is available in the market at press time that it retails for as low as $120. Combined with newer processors and chipsets that takes better advantage of faster memory (Meaning that, it's much more than 2% performance over DDR2 now), more users are becoming more willing to jump the boat. On the other hand, there's also the overclocking crowd that's more interested in DDR3 RAM because the price of most DDR3 sets is now within affordable margins. While the OCZ ReaperX is not $120 right now, what it offers is Micron's latest D9GTS ICs that has gained excellent reputation from enthusiast crowds for excellent overclocking. How does this set of RAM step up against the rest? Let's put it through our tests and we'll see how it goes.

AMD's Triple-Core Phenom - X3 8750
HardwareZone posted a review on AMD's Triple-Core Phenom

We have all heard of dual and quad-core processors but three cores on a single chip? That's what AMD intends to sell with its new Phenom X3 processors, basically a quad-core X4 with a disabled core. Does this numerical advantage help AMD compete against Intel's dual-core offerings?

Canon Digital IXUS 90 IS (PowerShot SD790 IS) Review
Bios Magazine posted a review on the Canon Digital IXUS 90 IS (PowerShot SD790 IS

Canon's Digital IXUS range is arguable more concerned with style over substance, but frankly it's not an issue for those who want to capture images quickly and easily. Every Digital IXUS we've ever used (we're still using the Digital IXUS 950 IS) has been a dream to use and produced excellent shots with minimal fuss. The Digital IXUS 90 IS is no different, and although there's no ground-breaking photographic innovation the build quality is second to none and image quality (both stills and videos) is well above par - images are crisp and colours are accurate, at least at low ISO modes. The only big disappointment is that Canon skimps on memory, providing an almost good for nothing 32MB card. Still, flash memory is cheap these days and you can pick up a good 2GB card for under 310.

Ultra m998 Case Review

Computer enthusiasts want their computer gear to look tough. Tough enough to go into your man-cave. Your case should steal the milk money from wimpy cases, and date their moms. Your case should look like it was made from the parts of lesser cases to form one uber-case. Your case should be a badass.

What could possibly be more manly than the Humvee; one of the biggest and baddest of all-terrain vehicles? Would you be intrigued to learn of a PC case modelled after one of these marvels of mechanical engineering? Ultra thinks so, and they've created their m998 case to complement your masculinity.

NZXT Tempest PC Case Review
I4U NEWS reviews the NZXT Tempest PC Case.

Today we are checking out a PC case from NZXT called the Tempest. The NZXT Tempest lacks some of the polish you get from much more expensive cases like you get from Cooler Master, but it offers lots for the $100 price.

All the fans in the case make it louder than some you will find, but there is no denying the amount of air flow to keep your components cool. The case is also attractive with a clear side window with a blue LED fan. The case retails for around $100 making it less than half the price of my Cosmos S. While the NZXT Tempest lacks the polish of the Cosmos S, it is a very good case.

Gigabyte Radeon HD 2400 XT Review
OCC has published a new review of the Gigabyte Radeon HD 2400 XT

Like I mentioned above, the Gigabyte HD 2400 XT uses a unique cooling method called "Screen Cooling". This takes a fan-less heatsink and extends it past the width of the PCB, making the card essentially a full size ATX card. This gives the video card a wider and thicker look, while effectively cooling it with zero noise level, from the lack of fans. This design also protects the VGA connection, which uses a ribbon cable to extend the port on the PCI bracket, from snagging or damage. By removing the outer connection bracket we can get a better look at the fins of the heatsink and the holes which allow air flow from the case to pass through them and cool the card.
