Legit Reviews posted their review on the GeForce 8800 Ultra Video Card

The GeForce 8800 Ultra takes the world’s fastest GPU and pushes it further: with a core clock of 612 MHz, a shader clock of 1500MHz and a memory clock of 1080MHz. The GeForce 8800 Ultra costs 36% more and has a performance improvement of 10.7% over the GeForce 8800 GTX. Will consumers cough up 36% more for something ~11% faster? Only time will tell and since NVIDIA has a product that can't be beat by anything that ATI has on the market they have the ability to keep pushing prices up.

NVIDIA has officially taken the wraps of their new flagship GeForce 8800 Ultra graphics card. As you probably expect, it's similar to the GeForce 8800 GTX it replaces at the top of NVIDIA's GPU line-up, but offers better performance thanks to its higher clock speeds and improved cooler. We took a pair of GeForce 8800 Ultra cards for a spin in SLI mode and have our thoughts and performance data posted for all to see. You can check everything out right here

The brushed aluminum front panel gives it a stylish and pleasing look. The E-Torque offers more than acceptable cooling utilizing two 120MM fans and the CPU duct / VGA vents. It also gives the user the 100% tool-less design, which makes installation a breeze.

3D Game Man posted a review on the Nexus NHP-2200 Northbridge Cooler

Nexus has a really great product here. Their build quality is top notch with the performance to back up the beauty. Installation was a bit more involved than we would have liked to see but was easy enough. The smaller foot print of the disk shaped fins was also a nice bonus.

BCC Hardware posted Zalman HD160XT HTPC Case Review

This is really the main selling point of the case, the Zero Pixel Defect (ZPD) 7" Touchscreen LCD. This LCD is very sharp looking at is capable of 1024x768 resolution. It's pretty neat to be able to push a button on the front of the case which brings up Windows Media Center, and with a couple taps on the screen you've got a movie playing on the front of your case, it's really quite impressive.

The Guru of 3D published a review on the NVIDIA 8800 Ultra Video Card

Welcome to yet another new NVIDIA product review. It's been discussed widely ever since... hmm what was it, February? Today NVIDIA is launching its GeForce 8800 Ultra.

So what can we expect from the GeForce 8800 Ultra? Well higher core, memory and shader frequencies (I really prefer to call them shady frequencies) thus an accumulated amount of additional performance and good thermals, man look at that new cooler! And all that at 175 Watts maximum as in this silicon revision NVIDIA claims to have some architectural advantages that got wattage down.

Guru3D will quickly go through the technical specs, we'll skip the in-depth DX10 part as honestly please read it in our reference reviews. We'll look at heat, power consumption, give the card a good run for the money with a plethora of up-to-date games and then we'll try and torch the bugger in a tweaking session where we'll overclock the shiznit out of it.

ExtremeOCTech takes a look at the Logitech G3 Gaming Mouse

Before I end my review of the G3 I want to say that after using the G5 and then using the G3 there isn't really that much of a difference other then the design. I feel that the technical aspect of the mouse is as good or equal to that of the G5 so it really falls down to which design you like better and what is more comfortable for the users to use.

XYZ Computing has posted Fujitsu Lifebook P7230 Notebook Review

This review will be looking at Fujitsu's P7230 ultraportable. This tiny system is part of a new crop of ultraportable's that use LED backlighting in order to get great display performance while maintaining a long battery life. That is the main technological achievement of the system but it is by no means all it has going for it. The P7230 is built on an ultra mobile platform that includes an Intel Core Solo U1400 processor, an optical drive, and a 10.6" display. This smaller format factor allows for a very light weight and great portability but limits the power of the system as well as aspects that affect usability, like the size of the keyboard.

I4U NEWS reviews the Speed MV8 MP4/MP3 Player

There are myriads of digital audio players out there. The Speed MV-8 is one of them and tries to compete with small size, broad feature offering and high quality implementation. The case of this DAP is made from metal and immediately reminded me on a Zippo lighter. The shape is also similar. Only the 2 inch color TFT screen with 65k colors and the buttons give the Speed MV-8 away.

BigBruin posted their experiences with the Turnine Customer Support

I have heard of problems with many of the current and past generations of MMOs (Massively Multiplayer Online games) on the market. Some of them are valid, some of them are not. Of course there is the old adage that you can't please everyone all the time, but I wonder if the developers/game operators even really try? While I can not personally speak to every MMO/Online Game out there, I can speak to Turbine's DDO (Dungeons and Dragons Online)...

Right after the Internet was set abuzz with news that the new ATI Radeon HD X2000 series of graphics cards will be launched on May 14th, NVIDIA launches a preemptive strike by launching a new flagship card, the GeForce 8800 Ultra.

Designed to replace the GeForce 8800 GTX as the new top-end graphics card from NVIDIA, the GeForce 8800 Ultra seems destined to be the card that kills the ATI Radeon HD X2900 before it is even released. However, the picture isn't as rosy as it seems.

Read on and find out why the new NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra will not be a card we have all been waiting for.

3D Game Man posted a review on Nexus 80 Plus Power Supplies

The Nexus 80 Plus Power Supplies are excellent for a Home Theatre PC setup or in any environment where a quiet power supply is required. Due to wattage limitations, they are really not intended for a hardcore gaming rig though. All of these power supplies are identical on the outside with a steel housing which is painted black. There's one quiet 120mm fan and the fan grill is recessed which ensures it will fit in any ATX case. These power supplies also have lots of leads, most of these leads are modular, but a few are hard wired into the power supply and can't be removed. Watch the video to find out more and check out the bloopers at the end.

Driver Heaven posted a game review on SilverFall

What's the hottest PC game out right now? Judging by the sales numbers World of Warcraft is still way ahead of the pack. Now, from a publishers perspective the best thing to do is to try and copy the game, hoping for an equally successful title to be made. The problem is, the market is kind of saturated right now, so not only is it hard to penetrate the market, it's near impossible to make a title that is different enough from the rest yet at the same time generic enough to fit all tastes. A possible solution? Instead of copying WoW have a look at Blizzards back catalogue and do your best to mimic one of the games on the list. If it worked out for Titan Quest it sure as hell can for a game that has zombies with cannons sticking out from their abdomen!

Neoseeker has published a review of MSI's P6N Platinum board.

First, I do like the NVIDIA 650i SLI chipset - in general, the MSI P6N SLI Platinum motherboard is pretty much your average mid-range motherboard.

In terms of performance, it actually exceeded my expectations. Some of the gaming benchmarks were extraordinary, in the top rankings with even the best competitors. Memory testing did pretty well too, and actually gave those two Intel chipsets a run for their money. And the overclocking saw some very considerable, very welcome, very nice boosts in performance. Overall, I'd have to say that the NVIDIA 650i SLI chipset is a winner.

Benchmark Reviews posted NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra Sneak Preview

When NVIDIA originally released the GeForce 8800 series back in November of 2006, the industry was stunned. The performance yielded by the newly minted top-level 8800 GTX nearly doubled the next best offerings prior to their launch. Even the slightly less powerful 8800 GTS managed to post similarly astonishing results, making their release a double-whammy for the competition. At that particular time, the high price tag seemed acceptable for a narrow majority.

But that was then, and this is now. Today NVIDIA Corporation introduced the world's fastest graphics processing unit (GPU), the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra. NVIDIA has quickly moved into production with the new GeForce 8800 Ultra video card, and they are offering it to the most dedicated consumers with a price tag approaching nearly $1000. NVIDIA promises unmatched performance, but what exactly is the GeForce 8800 Ultra, and is it worth the money? Benchmark Reviews offers this insightful sneak preview of the GeForce 8800 Ultra video card from NVIDIA so that you can decide for yourself.

OCC has published a new review of the NZXT Hush Mid-Tower Case

There are a few things that we all look for when it comes to a new case: looks, price, how many fans are included, modding potential, size and weight. But rarely is sound a consideration when you are looking to transport your computer to the next LAN party or looking for the latest and greatest air cooling solution. Normally you get the computer so loud you can hear it at the other end of the house and you just get used to the noise. But hey, at least it cools great! On the other hand, you have the enthusiast who is looking to go as quiet as possible and still keep within the thermal specs on the hardware they have chosen. Usually I fall into the first group and try and cool every piece of hardware I have, regardless of the noise implications, low speed just does not cut it. Today we will be looking at a case produced by NZXT named aptly HUSH! Can a case designed to be silent still offer the cooling desired by hardcore enthusiasts? Lets find out.

DV Hardware has posted a review on Kingston DataTraveler ReadyFlash

These days flash drives are pretty mainstream. One flash drive can easily be used thousands of times and they are more convenient than other portable storage media like DVDs. Almost every PC out there, unless it's one from the Stone Age, will be able to send data to your USB memory stick and to do that you don't need to install any software at all. USB sticks are very easy to use, very portable, most models are pretty fast and they offer lots of storage room. Today I'm taking a closer look at the Kingston DataTraveler ReadyFlash. This is a fairly new USB 2.0 drive which is optimized to take full advantage of Windows Vista's new ReadyBoost feature.

Howtoforge published a guide about preventing brute force attacks with Fail2ban on Debian GNU/Linux 4.0

In this article I will show how to install and configure fail2ban on a Debian Etch system. Fail2ban is a tool that observes login attempts to various services, e.g. SSH, FTP, SMTP, Apache, etc., and if it finds failed login attempts again and again from the same IP address or host, fail2ban stops further login attempts from that IP address/host by blocking it with an iptables firewall rule.
