bit-tech.net posted an editorial: Performance per what?

Many manufacturers have started to use the term "Performance per Watt" in an effort to draw attention away from increasing power requirements. Tim Smalley thinks it's time these manufacturers started focusing on lower power consumption before this obsession gets out of hand.

Virtual-Hideout posted Abit AB9 Quad GT P965 Crossfire Motherboard Review

About a week ago, I had the pleasure of playing with Abit's flagship IN9 32X-MAX 680i Motherboard and mentioned the successes that the all but dead Intel 965X chipset was still causing serious waves among the enthusiasts. Well, here before me is the Abit AB9 Quad GT P965 Crossfire Motherboard which has in many forums taken the Core 2 Duo in to uncharted territory that rivals that of the 680i chipset. There are so many differences between the two chipsets, yet they have so many of the same features.

TheTechLounge posted a review on the Seagate Barracuda 750 GB Hard Drive

How much storage does one person need? 20GB, 40GB, 200Gb? Where does it end, or does it even end? Lucky for us, we never really have to answer that question. Each passing day brings us greater capacities for less money. Just last year, the 500GB hard drive was all the rage, now, in front of me is a
brand new 750 GB drive. Yep, 3/4 of a terabyte! Honestly, how many wholesome family films can someone store on their computer?

techPowerup checked out the Ideazon Reaper Optical Gaming Mouse

The Ideazon Reaper is a very unique mouse with a cool red Ideazon logo, which is sure to attract some attention at dark LAN parties. Due to its shape it is unsuitable for left-handed gamers. Right handed players will find the mouse to be quite comfortable and the software is solid, with a fair amount of customization features. This all makes for a good alround gaming device.

Driver Heaven posted XFX 8800 Ultra XXX 768MB Review

Nvidia have held the GFX performance crown for quite some time with the extremely impressive 8800 GTX, so when they announced the Ultra a few weeks ago the general consensus was they had yet again pushed the envelope further, albeit with a huge price premium.

Everything considered, there will always be a market for these high end cards and with this in mind XFX sent us their new XXX Ultra for review, with further improvements on the core, memory and shader clocks. As AMD's graphics card division are yet unable to supply an answer to the older GTX, the Ultra is certain to push the two companies high end products even further apart.

With such a high price tag on the Ultra our graphics card guru Stuart Veridian Davidson will not only measure the cards real world gaming performance on XP and Vista, but will ascertain if the card is ultimately worth the money.

ThinkComputers.org posted Razer Pro|Type Keyboard Review

A while ago Razer released the Tarantula gaming keyboard. It received great reviews and everyone I talked to said they really liked it. Razer has a new line called Razer Pro|Solutions. All of the Pro|Solutions products are more focused towards the consumer crowd. Today we are taking a look at the Razer Pro|Type Keyboard, which is based on the Tarantula gaming keyboard. What's most noticeably different is there is an iPod dock right in the center of the keyboard. Actually it's the world's first keyboard with an integrated iPod dock. So let's take a look.

Tweaknews.net posted a review on the Cyber Snipa Scout Webcam

For $20, the Scout webcam is worth the purchase. It takes good still shots, decent video, and has a built in microphone. Its small size makes it ultra portable and I would have liked to see Cyber Snipa include a carrying case. It stays put when clipped onto an LCD monitor but can also stand on its own. For basic webcam functions it works great.

HotHardware.com posted an article on the Intel P35 Bearlake

Although information has been floating around for ages and product hit the channel sooner than expected, today is actually the day Intel is
officially unleashing their newest mainstream desktop chipset, the P35, a member of the formerly codenamed "Bearlake" family. In addition to a new
Southbridge, the P35 chipset ushers in support for DDR3 system memory in the desktop. It also supports legacy DDR2 memory, depending on the motherboard's DIMM slot configuration.

We've taken a pair of brand-new P35-based motherboards from Asus for a spin with both DDR2 and DDR3 memory installed. As you'll see, thanks to some relatively high latencies currently, DDR3 doesn't affect performance all that much. It sure is great for overclocking though!

Head on over to the site and check it out.

Bjorn3D posted a review on the Super Talent T800UX4GC5 Memory kit

Not only that we see the price drop in the DDR2, the higher capacity RAM (which used to lag behind in timing and clock speed of the lesser capacity) with faster clock speed and timings are also starting to appear on the market to satisfy the enthusiasts who not only wish to have larger RAM but also need the overclocking potential. Bjorn3D has officially kicked in the 4 gig memory review with Miles’s review on the Mushkin XP2-8500 DDR2. The Mushkin’s XP2-8500 is geared toward extreme overclockers as it offers great overclocking ability but it comes with a high price tag. Today, we will take a look at the Super TalentÂ’s T800UX4GC5, a more mainstream priced RAM that will satisfy users who wish to have 4 gigs of ram without breaking their wallets.
