MSI 890FXA - GD70 Motherboard review
KitGuru posted a review on the MSI 890FXA - GD70 Motherboard

MSI have a reputation for making great motherboards and their previous 790FX GD70 board received much critical acclaim. Not willing to rest on their laurels however, they went back to the drawing board and made some changes with the 890FXA GD70 in regards to board layout. With the new AMD 890FX chipset and SB850 Southbridge complimenting the USB 3.0 and SATA 6gbps ports this board looks to be fully locked n’ loaded.

Bigbruin.com posted a review on the Thermalright AXP-140 Heatpipe CPU Cooler

Thermalright addresses a key issue of picking a cooler for an HTPC by taking their expertise in heatsink design and developing an enthusiast grade CPU cooler that can fit in to an HTPC case. The AXP-140 heatpipe CPU cooler would make a great cooler for just about any system, but because it is only 70.2mm high it is just the thing for keeping an HTPC running cool and quiet.

Virgin Mobile LG Rumor Touch
TestFreak posted a review on the Virgin Mobile LG Rumor Touch

Today for review I’ve got the LG Rumor Touch on the Virgin Mobile network, which is a subsidiary of Sprint. The Rumor Touch can be considered a smarthpone, but it’s really not in that it doesn’t have Android or WinMo on it, or really any real operating system like one would expect on a smartphone. It’s on Sprint so I expected decent call quality, I’ve used Sprint before and it was fine but I has issues here with the Rumor Touch, so it has to be the phone and not the network. It’s a touchscreen phone as you might expect by the name, but I found it to be very frustrating to use, it’s not very responsive at all honestly, I found myself touching the screen many times to get something to happen or I’d try and do something and something that I didn’t want to happen would. Overall I don’t like this phone..

PowerColor Radeon HD5850 PCS+ Review
KitGuru posted a review on the PowerColor Radeon HD5850 PCS+ video card

ATI have been enjoying huge success in 2010. The 5xxx series of graphics cards has been fondly received by both the public and critics … the combination of low power requirements with top tier performance has proven hard to beat. nVidia have managed to level the playing field lately with the latest Fermi cards, but most people would agree that ATI are still in a very strong position. When heat and power drain are important, the 5xxx is still king.

PSU Roundup: Coolermaster vs BeQuiet vs Antec
XSReviews has written a PSU Roundup: Coolermaster vs BeQuiet vs Antec

One of the biggest criticisms that review sites can throw out against others of their ilk, is that certain reviews simply aren't detailed enough. HardwareSecrets famously bashed their fellow reviewers for not making use of the correct equipment needed to accurately test the performance and efficiency of power supplies leading to ultimately misleading reviews.

While XSR was lucky enough to not garner direct attention from this article we are just as guilty as those mentioned by name as in the past our PSU reviews simply didn't utilise the equipment necessary to test what's really important. However, today I am pleased that we've turned a corner and from now on all power supply reviews will be conducted with the utmost professionalism making use of fully fledged hardware testing suits.

Unfortunately we're still not quite ready to buy this equipment ourselves, but the kind folks at Coolermaster helped us out in that respect, flying me over to their facility in Venlo to get some testing done. So without further a do, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you XSR's first true power supply review, Coolermaster vs Antec vs BeQuiet: the PSU roundup.
