GamePC has posted a shootout between 6 major makes of DDR SDRAM.
One thing thatīs really bugged me in the past is the naming scheme for DDR memory, which calculates the name by the maximum bandwidth of the module. For example, PC-1600 DDR memory has 1.6 GB/s (1600 MB/s) of peak memory bandwidth, while PC-2100 DDR has 2.1 GB/s (2100 MB/s). Everyday consumers see PC-2100 DDR compared to PC-100 SDRAM, and immediately think itīs 21x faster. Not so, my friends. Letīs check out a chart to illustrate my point.
