We selected the latest versions of two very popular freeware tweaking tools, Tweak UI and X-Setup, as the best of the bunch. We´ve torture-tested them through four gruelling rounds in the death match arena, to see which is best.

We were most interested in testing their power, usability, and safety. We looked at:

How easy are they to install and use?
What do they let you tweak, and are the tweaks worth doing?
Do they provide adequate documentation and safeguards for inexperienced users?
What user support is available?
