Power demands are increasing with every new generation of processors, graphics cards, and many other hardware components. High-end computers these days consume more and more power, and the power supply industry continues to release new units at a blazing pace. It is now no longer uncommon or overkill to own a 500 or 600W power supply, with some PSUs in Japan supporting up to 900W!
