Fuel cells are better than batteries for powering mobile gadgets, because they give you near-zero "charge time", and better energy density.
You might, however, have noticed that fuel cells for laptops and mobile phones and such haven't actually quite made it to market, yet. There are also some things about fuel cells that a lot of reports don't mention.
