Alexander Peter Kowalski has updated once again his Tuning Guide for Windows NT/2000.

Turn off the extensible performance counters (youŽll need the tool that comes with the ResourceKit to make it easy on yourself to turn them ALL off via an easy to use GUI interface with point click ease of use).
The toolŽs exe name is => exctrlst.exe
* If youŽre not performing analysis of this stuff, turn those counters off! Many things like your disk for instance, will speed up quite alot!
