With all the expectation built around its release and advancement of one of today's most established franchises, Gears of War 2 has no pace for middle ground: it's either going to triumph over the mauled bodies of its beaten enemies, or fail miserably in the face of a massive challenge. Funnily enough, if games had a mind of their own, that's exactly how this no-holds barred, action rollercoaster of a game would like it... and the failure option would never, ever cross its biceps-laden mind.
