The clip mechanism used is fantastic, and not like any I've come across so far. Both ends of the clip are designed to grasp all three prongs of the ZIF socket which helps to give it a more firm hold. Trust me, on a cooler this big a firm hold is a necessity. The screw at the top allows you to tighten the clamp. What I particularly like about this design is that you do not have to deal with bastard clips like the ones used on the old FOP38, and neither do you have to use any tools to pry the darn thing away from the socket. Another advantage to this is that pressure is applied evenly on the cpu when installing the heat sink, and lessens your chances of chipping the core. All in all, this is a great design and one of the easiest to use clipping mechanism that I've had the pleasure of using.
