AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Liquid: peaks at 440W power

Now that people are getting AMD's new Radeon Vega Frontier Edition into their hands, we've arrived at the release of the Radeon Vega Frontier Liquid Edition, which provides more stable GPU clocks - and a higher TDP that consumes much more power than NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card. Our friends over at PC Perspective have tested the new Radeon Vega Frontier Liquid Edition, rocking its 375W TDP (the air-cooled Radeon Vega Frontier has a 300W TDP). AMD dropped the price of its Radeon Vega Frontier Edition just before release to $999, down from $1200 - while the liquid cooled version was $1800 (!!!) and dropped to $1200 at the last minute.

Gigabyte AB350N-Gaming WIFI AM4 Motherboard Review

The most resounding question asked at CES 2017 after showing AM4 motherboards before launch is “Where are the ITX motherboards?”. That is really all you need to know about how popular ITX options are these days. Especially since it was not possible on AMD’s AM3+ platform with FX CPUs and definitely not going to be possible with AMD TR4 Threadripper motherboards. It is not just about the small size, but the power too. That is why there wasn’t as much demand for mini-ITX FM2+ compared to AM4, because the new Ryzen platform actually has competitive crunching power vs Intel’s offerings.

For their part, Gigabyte now has the AB350N-Gaming WIFI ITX motherboard for Ryzen. It uses a B350 chipset instead of the ITX-specific A320 chipset to give builders better headroom when it comes to performance through overclockability. The B350 chipset also provides all the necessary modern storage connectivity including PCIe x4 NVMe M.2 and USB 3.1 Gen 2 support. Coupled with Gigabyte’s custom audio implementation and RGB LED features, the AB350N-Gaming WIFI packs a lot on a tiny package and a sensible $115 price tag.

HyperX Alloy Elite Keyboard Review

At the end of 2016, HyperX launched its first mechanical keyboard, the Alloy FPS, and we loved it – giving it 9/10 and our ‘Must Have’ award. Intel prepares Core i7-8700K to better fight AMD Ryzen

Intel is like a T-Rex fighting AMD with its little arms right now, with this fact compounded by the rumors of Intel preparing new 6-core CPU parts under the upcoming Coffee Lake CPU architecture for early-2018. Intel is reportedly working on the flagship Core i7-8700K processor (6C/12T) at 3.7GHz base, and a lowered 95W TDP. Comparing the 8700K against the newly-released Core i9-7800X which has a 140W TDP, it would begin chomping on the heels of the 7800X very quickly - which is probably why Intel isn't launching the 8700K until next year, to give the 7800X some breathing room.

Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse and Keyboard Review

The folks over at Logitech have been in the mouse and keyboard business for a long time and have essentially dominated the marketplace when it comes to those aforementioned peripherals for business and general computing use. If you’ve used computers for any length of time at all, odds are good you’ve used at least one of their products. However, on the gaming side of things they aren’t typically the first brand that comes to mind even though they’ve been doing gaming hardware since the 90’s. In recent years, Logitech has made a concerted effort to better delineate their gaming hardware by aligning them under their G brand name which covers entry to professional level products. In fact, I’ll be honest – I’ve used a lot of Logitech products over the years for both gaming and business applications and I never really thought of them as a gaming powerhouse even though upon reflection, they’ve been there every step of the way in terms of gaming peripherals for both PC and console gaming. I think it’s a smart move to continue to nurture their G gaming brand to ensure they stay in the forefront of customers’ minds in this respect.

The 8 best SSDs of 2017

No more excuses. The best SSDs of 2017 are now more affordable than ever before. Looking for the best SSD, otherwise known as solid-state drive? You've come to the right place, as we list the very best SSDs you can buy in 2017.

We've also got some handy buying advice if you're looking to get a new SSD. Capacity has always been the source of insecurity for SSDs. Even now, 15TB will cost you more than 7,000 clams from Samsung, and that's where the capacity maxes out (that is, until the company's 32TB model touches down).

Luckily, there are drives like the Crucial MX300 that’ll set you back less than 300 a terabyte, and even the tiniest solid state drive will soak up a Windows installation. Simply chuck the rest in the big ol’ data bin we call a hard drive.
