Take a peek at JBL’s website and you might notice a trend. Look familiar? Their computer audio products have taken on the virginal white heraldry of Apple’s little darling. Not only that, these ordinarily sedate computer speakers have mutated into alien versions of their former selves.
The design department over at JBL must be working double shifts. The new look of JBL’s computer audio screams two things: iPod and alien invasion; perhaps none more so than the Encounter 2.1 speaker system. Not only do the components themselves resemble bug-eyed invaders, the name alone beckons a certain Spielberg epic. These 2.1 computer speakers may look out of this world but how will they perform down here on Earth?
