The NMH410 betters its rivals with its ability to play video as well as audio files and photos, but Firefox users need to install the Windows Media Player 11 plug-in to play video and music over the Web. Besides its ease of use, the NMH410 is one of the few NAS boxes that I've testing which successfully streams high-definition 1080p video across a Gigabit wired Ethernet connection. Unfortunately, the biggest problem with the box is that it is one of the slowest I've tested in terms of data transfer tests - it took almost 7 minutes to copy 3GB of files and folders and just as long to search through 10GB of data. If you're the patient type, this shouldn't be a problem. Overall, Linksys should be commended for making network attached storage approachable for the uninitiated. The NMH410 is definitely worth a close look.
