Burlington, MA, May 3, 2004 – XOsoft, a leading provider of continuous application availability software solutions, today announced that Max Re Ltd., a provider of risk-controlled products for the global property and casualty, and life and annuity reinsurance and insurance markets, has successfully implemented XOsoft’s state-of-the-art WANSync solutions. WANSync has been deployed to securely replicate file, insurance database and e-mail servers at Max Re’s Bermuda headquarters to high availability replicas in Dublin, Ireland.

Max Re installed WANSync on its master file, database and e-mail servers at its Bermuda headquarters. WANSync now continuously replicates multi-gigabyte spool files between the company’s main offices and high availability WANSync replicas located at its secure hosting center in Dublin, in real time. WANSync may also be used to allocate bandwidth according to specific scenarios assigned to Max Re’s file access, database and e-mail applications. Different bandwidth may also be assigned during business hours, evenings and nights.
After testing a few solutions under bandwidth-limited laboratory conditions, Mr. Lohan singled out XOsoft’s WANSync product line as the clear winner. “WANSync’s application specific support for Exchange and SQL and its ability to rewind data to its latest consistent state in the event of data corruption provided unique value over other solutions. Additional advantages include WANSync’s ability to replicate our servers over the limited bandwidth available to us, and the speed and ease with which it can be installed. We didn’t even have to reboot servers -- downtime for the entire installation process was truly negligible.”
