Palm Tungsten T5 Review

Posted by Philipp Esselbach on: 01/31/2005 07:33 AM [ Print | 0 comment(s) ]

TheTechLounge has posted a reviewon the Palm Tungsten T5

As we all know, technology never stops, nor does the onslaught of new gadgets and fun things to buy. PalmOne is no stranger to this phenomenon, and they have just released their new handheld, the Tungsten T5. Of course, being the ‘latest and greatest’ in any product line is sure to have an impact on pricing. The T5 is on the top end of PalmOne’ product line, so I am expecting to see top end performance. Not only does the T5 come with a hi-res screen, but it also takes advantage of several of the features introduced with the T3 such as the larger viewing area, the ability to rotate into landscape mode, and the digitized writing surface.

The biggest difference over the T3 or any of PalmOne’s other handhelds is the T5’s ability to act as a USB drive. This feature should allow the user to connect to any computer running Windows 2000 or Windows XP without needing any special software. Now, we know that the T5 has some great features, but I’m particularly interested to see if any of the T3’s problems were fixed in the T5. Let’s get to work and find out if the T5 lives up to its $400 price tag.
