Gunning for Microsoft's cash-cow Office suite has become a new pastime in the software biz. The latest is SimDesk 1.70, a subscription-based substitute for Microsoft Office and Exchange.
SimDesk provides users with a simple, inexpensive application suite combined with Web services, including e-mail and remote storage. The program gives you the core feature set of Microsoft's more expensive product line and works on low-powered hardware with minimal disk storage-or no storage at all.
