XYZ Computing has posted a new article on the Antec Phantom 500 Power Supply
The fact that computers must operate in close proximity to people means that any sound they produce is bothersome and extraneous. As quiet computing has grown from a hobby of a few people to a major part of the industry, the number and quality of the available quiet/silent parts has increased greatly. This review will be taking a look at Antec's new Phantom 500 power supply unit. Its predecessor, the Phantom 350, has been a huge hit for Antec and has become the benchmark for fanless power supplies. The Phantom 500 has been bumped up from 350W to 500W and also has a number of other interesting changes, the most important of which is the addition of a fan. This means this power supply is no longer fanless but is Antec has still labeled it as silent.
