Serial-ATA is finally starting to be readily available in most stores and online. You might have heard of the speed capabilities of SATA - 150MB/sec over 100 or 133MB/sec of Parallel ATA.

But what kind of performance will we see with first generation SATA drives? To find out, we take identical hard drives - A pair of Seagate Barracuda V 120MB drives - one SATA and one PATA, and benchmark them like crazy...
